Where do I get my petition (in NJ) to enter the primary for the House? |
|
Word on the street is that Jeff Van Drew, a Democrat who did everything but campaign for Chris Christie (his campaigns have always stressed how much he disagreed with Jim McGreevey and Jon Corzine), and opposes both marriage equality and civil unions, is preparing to enter the Congressional race against Frank LoBiondo (R-Obviously).
I'm not going to stand for this, nor should any real Democrat. No more Martha Coakleys or Ben Nelsons! If he enters the campaign, I want to have petitions ready to file to run against him in the primary. If he doesn't, I will probably sit out this year and run against him in the primary for his re-election to the State Senate next year.
The NJ Division of Elections web site keeps saying that no petitions are available for download at this time, and doesn't have any information on how to pick them up in person. The head of the County Board of Elections refuses to answer my letters or take my calls.
Who do I go to to pick up petitions for the primary for House? Do I get them from the local BoE? The County Clerk? The office of the Secretary of State? Any and all assistance will be greatly appreciated.

5. That's the site I was referring to. |
|
"There are no Nomination Petitions available at this time" at the site, and no word on where to pick them up in person.

6. Hmm. Maybe they have certain dates that they make them available? |
|
Can you file an exploratory committee for now?

7. I don't want to actually file anything yet. |
|
I'm not running for Congress unless Van Drew gets in, mainly because I want him out of Trenton and unable to do any more damage. Putting him in Washington would be worse, however, so I will run in the primary if I have to.
If I file exploratory it would be for the primary against him next year for State Senate.

9. If you file exploratory for something right now you can raise money |
|
If you're serious about challenging this guy you need to have at least some cash.
