The election result is stupid for everyone. We all lose. |

The bottom line is nobody is willing to compromise. Not the left, not the right. And now we have one less vote on the "left". Blame is pointless (although I see many out trying to point the giant finger -- look in the mirror, you are part of the problem), because everyone's points are moot. We now have nothing to work with, and probably less (potentially far less) after the next election.
Let me repeat that. We have nothing major we can achieve.
Nothing. Nothing in the Democratic Agenda will pass the Senate with the status quo. Reconcile all you want. Good luck getting 51 votes. As long as Republicans and Centrists hold together, this country is pwned until November when the electorate will be so pissed at gridlock they will probably vote out everyone.
Even the Republicans lose. They wanted healthcare to pass so they could run against it. They "peaked" too soon. And the electorate does not know it's left from it's right. And the media will only make this worse.
What a mess.

1. There is an old Chinese proverb about pointing the finger of blame |
|
and how there are 3 other fingers pointing back at one's self.

8. I wouldn't call it compromise. The "left" has been ignored, ridiculed, abandoned, and exploited |
|
for our dollars, election-work, and votes. Input on actual policy is not requested, wanted, nor valued.

3. I disagree. I've read Obama has committed to moving further left. |
|
To dealing with the r's more forcefully. If that is the case, it may nave been the right signal at the right time. He is headed for political disaster otherwise.

12. Other presidents have done more with less. Either he is competent or he is not. |

It sounds as though he has recognized the error of his ways. Time will tell.

15. Either he's capable or he isn't. It's not a good sign if he needs you to make excuses for him. |

5. Wrong, the Republicans won this one. |

Now is the time to regroup and move on. This is what past presidents did and Obama will do the same.
