Why is ANYBODY arguing for "more of the same" after last night?

1. They already wanted more of the same, and will use any news to justify it.
Up is down, down is up. Whatever it takes to get people to think in a way that's beneficial to corporate America.

it's time to come together around a bill that can draw Republican support, too.

Talk about more of the same! :eyes:

Democrats have decided Change is not to be had so they must expect Change to happen to them and not by them..

11. You're still fighting for bland, timid centrism even though last night proved
Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 05:38 PM by Ken Burch
that bland timid centrism will be unpopular forever.

(And you KNOW we aren't "Bashing Democrats or Obama". We're defending the Democratic party from the forces of failure.

Edited on Wed Jan-20-10 05:53 PM by Ken Burch
More flag pins and more hawkishness would've meant even MORE lost votes. Bill Clinton would've lost this race worse than anyone.

Why are you defending a failed politics?

18. Are you defending rediculous nonsense? Yup
If Mass. voters were sending a message about "centrist" policies they would NOT have voted for fucking teabagger.

That is just plain stupid

from their corporate party, and I can't think of anything worse than waking up next to someone after a night of partying and not remembering their name, how you met them, or why they are dead.

17. Ponderous. Absolutely ponderous.
As I posted in another thread, we appear to be coming out of this bushwhacking with an invigorated, angry resolve....only to have our leader offer a more submissive health care reform than ever.

I am in a very ugly mix of bewliderment and disgust right now.

24. As I said, there may be a few.
I don't see that post as even a particularly good example. He's arguing against doing things that get tea-baggers elected. I'm also against getting tea-baggers elected. Who here isn't? Unless you're saying that any change, even rightward change, is better than "more of the same".

That's certainly what the right-wing noise machine wants us to think, and they're working hard at it, and sadly, they seem to be having some success.

Change simply for the sake of change is not an appropriate goal. We need change, we need big change, but it needs to be the right change.
