Why didn't the DSCC have a strategy for dealing with the "curling iron" issue? |
|
They knew it was there. They knew it would be brought up. They knew it would work. Why didn't the DSCC and the Coakley campaign have that issue gamed and strategized in advanced?
Also...once again...why can't our party vet candidates properly, so we make sure we don't get stuck with baggage like that?

They both voted against rape victims.

It should be used here in Alaska against Lisa "Senator Princess" Murkowski, who's seat is up this year and who could be beaten by a strong Democratic candidate.

5. The baby rape case Coakley screwed up when she was overseeing a grand jury |
|
She dawdled on getting charges laid against a fireman who'd raped a baby girl with a curling iron. It was shouted about at the last Brown rally on Monday and had been Coakley's "Willie Horton" issue throughout the campaign.

10. It wasn't? Are you insane? Coakley was bashed on it over and over and over. |
|
How could ANYONE think it wasn't a serious issue?

12. From everything I've heard...absolutely. |
|
They cared about Willie Horton...remember?
It was all over Massachusetts and she was being demonized for it.
Why would you dismiss it?
The point is, if the GOP had a candidate with something like that as an issue, they'd know it and have it gamed out and strategized from the start. Those guys never get caught flatfooted on candidate baggage like this.
