"Downtown Scotty Brown"?

The newest Senator was once a basketball player for Tufts University and was a very good three-point shooter, or so they say.

However, on one of the MSNBC morning shows this morning, Chuck Todd let it slip that his nickname of "Downtown" had another connotation. Savannah Guthrie then moved quickly to another topic. What was that all about?

A friend of mine who was his classmate at Tufts says the nickname relates to Brown's scoring prowess, off-court...all the girls he went "downtown" with.

Most all guys that I have known with the last name of Brown are called 'downtown' at one time or another. I work with a 'Downtown' Jeff Brown.
