I'm afraid the only way we can begin to deal with our problems is to have a Republican president. |
|
As long as we need 60 votes in the Senate, not a single law will be passed while a Democrat is in the presidency.
Once a Republican sits there, only 51 will be needed because all the Republicans and some Democrats will always vote for bills.
And Democrats will never filibuster.
And, of course, the next presidential election will be chosen by the richest corporations so we will have a GOP president that is totally under the thumb of big business.

10. He's influenced by them now but not totally beholden to them. But the next election ... |
|
who ever wins will be totally bought and paid for, thanks to the Supreme Court.

6. Well, that will certainly hasten the inevitable collapse |
|
The only reason to vote for Dems, by the way, was never because they were visionary or brave, but simply that they might -- might -- buy us more time for other solutions before the collapse came.
Evidently, they're not even good for that.
Sadly, though the abyss has been staring back at Americans for a very long time, and changing them in not very good ways...

8. It's sad that the only party with the leadership, tactics and courage |
|
to create change is the party determined to destroy our democracy and turn us into peasants.
I believe it is up to Progressives to draw a line in the sand and tell the Democratic Party what they must do to remain in power.
