Over? Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor?
Yes... it seems it was.

Worst day in politics since I don't know when.

I feel like someone wandering around in a cornfield after surviving a plane crash... except maybe without the surviving part.

26. It's all part of the continuum,
starting with Prescott Bush's attempt to overthrow FDR. Poppy, Baby enablers, now Supreme Court completes the Coup.

To paraphrase Craig Ferguson, It's a bad day for America.

60. Wrong when the CIA coup killed Kennedy
That was the defining moment of our Democracy. Obama would never-if he really were a progressive-and I'm not sure he is -do anything to upset the military-cia apple cart complex. He probably values his life and power too much.

74. I like comedy, I just don't like ALL comedic movies.
I never said nor implied that I was above watching good movies. I just never liked the vast majority of SNL or the actors on it. Eddie Murphy, Tracy Morgan, Gilda Radner, and a few other, I LOVED. Just not Belushi. Good grief, Just because I haven't watched it doesn't make me droll. Different strokes for different folks..

21. It's a joke. From a movie -- "Animal House."
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V8lT1o0sDwI&feature=related

D-Day (Bruce McGill): War's over, man. Wormer dropped the big one.
Bluto (John Belushi): Over? Did you say "over"? Nothing is over until we decide it is! Was it over when the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor? Hell no!
Otter (Tim Matheson): Germans?
Boon (Peter Riegert): Forget it, he's rolling.
Bluto: And it ain't over now. 'Cause when the goin' gets tough... the tough get goin'! Who's with me? Let's go! What the fuck happened to the Delta I used to know? Where's the spirit? Where's the guts, huh? "Ooh, we're afraid to go with you Bluto, we might get in trouble." Well just kiss my ass from now on! Not me! I'm not gonna take this. Wormer, he's a dead man! Marmalard, dead! Niedermeyer -
Otter: Dead! Bluto's right. Psychotic, but absolutely right. We gotta take these bastards. Now we could do it with conventional weapons that could take years and cost millions of lives. No, I think we have to go all out. I think that this situation absolutely requires a really futile and stupid gesture be done on somebody's part.
Bluto: We're just the guys to do it.
D-Day: Let's do it.
Bluto: LET'S DO IT!!

48. Something else out of that movie that might prove effective...
might do some of our reps and senators some good if we found a way to put a dead 'ass,' wheels up, in each of their offices to show our appreciation for NO JOB LEFT BEHIND.

For those too strait-laced to see such trash as 'Animal House,' this would be time to catch up. In spots, one of the funniest movies ever. In other spots, it was dead on arrival.

61. The incorrect information still has to be set straight.
I have met many young people who are seriously confused about this issue. Movie or not, the historical truth must be stated over and over even when we don't like that truth. A funny scene in a movie can become accepted as the true story. Literature has power.

Sure the planes had Japanese markings but how difficult would it be to fake those?

86. I believe that we defeated the Japanese. This information would have
been very easy to get from survivors of the Japanese military command.

We actually broke the Japanese codes after the war started you know.

Go study history. How young are you?

97. I know all about Johnson and the Gulf of Tonkin.
The Germans kept excellent records. Had they bombed Pearl Harbor before we officially entered the war, they would have bombed our mainland during the war. Stop joking around. You will confuse people who don't know better.

They launched sea planes from submarines and started a few forest fires on the West Coast.

113. Then we agree. The Japanese bombed us in the Pacific.
The Germans had, as I understand it U-boats on our Atlantic side and may have succeeded in some sabotage. The Germans never bombed our country. I was born during WWII and am quite familiar with the history. Members of my family served and told their stories (those that they were allowed to tell).

118. Your post concedes that some stories from World War II can't be told
What if one of those stories is about the Germans bombing Pearl Harbor?

And the Germans had plenty of U-boats in the Atlantic. They used to make beer runs at the General Store in Hatteras Village.

121. You are ridiculous. The Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor.
Had the Germans been able to bomb Pearl Harbor, they would have bombed the west coast of the U.S. Most of the WWII secrets are now known. We cracked some codes and kept the fact secret until some time in the 1970s. Many, many people were involved in cracking those codes, e.g. Enigma. None of them breathed a word.

122. You claim the Japanse bombed Pear Harbor and yet they didn't bomb the West Coast
Except for the aforementioned token raids from submarine-launched sea planes.

You're contradicting yourself dude.

And the code-breaking wasn't the only secret of World War II.

How long did it take to reveal the US role in the sinking of the Bismark? I still don't think that has been fully detailed.

Who's to say there aren't more unrevealed secrets?

It is difficult getting the Party's agenda passed when the Speaker of the House is stronger than both the Senate Majority Leader and the President.
