If ever there was a time for us to rally together and stop bickering, it is now...

All other issues pale in comparison to today's SCOTUS decision.

Health care, cap and trade, the economy, terrorism, bank reform, all of it is meaningless if we don't do something about what happened TODAY.

We need to support the Dems and the President (and the handful of Republicans) that are talking about fighting this thing through the legislative process.

I have to believe McCain will be on our side on this one... after all, the SCOTUS gutted McCain-Feingold. But who knows? He's so weasely that he could go any direction.

Are there any other Republicans that could be on the side of good here? I know, that's asking a lot.

5. Only the politicians that value our democracy... the rest WANT this...
...because they've already made their beds with corporations.

8. Why are CONSERVATIVE pols praising the decision then?

Listen to Mitch McConnell... John Boehner.... THEY are saying this is a GOOD thing.

Why?

Because corporations are mostly aligned with conservatives.... and they'll spend their dollars to get conservatives elected.

7. If that's how you feel, then we've heard you and know your opinion
and you should sit out while we go forward. There's really no need for us to hear your opinion again. Please leave us alone.

9. Thank you. We need to find a way to defeat this.
One way may be to hammer the fact that foreign nationals have so much influence in the corporations.

11. If you are wiling to acknowledge that TODAY was the fault of the "Centrist" Democrats.
The "Centrist" Democrats HELPED the Republicans install Alito and Roberts.

Google "Gang of 14".

The Democratic Wing of the Democratic Party FOUGHT this.
Come over to our side, and we can work together.
I'm NOT willing to help the "Centrist" cancer that has infected the guts of the Democratic Party.

"There are forces within the Democratic Party who want us to sound like kinder, gentler Republicans. I want us to compete for that great mass of voters that want a party that will stand up for working Americans, family farmers, and people who haven't felt the benefits of the economic upturn."---Paul Wellstone

13. No doubt.... the gang of 14 has a big role in this

...as does Nader (attacking Gore from the left in 2000)

...as does the ACLU (siding WITH Citizens United on this ruling)

14. Nader was NOT a "problem"
He WAS a symptom of the REAL Problem:
The ever rightward, Conservative, Pro-Corporate, Anti-LABOR drift of the Democratic Party that left a vacuum on The Left.

Vacuums WILL be filled.
If NOT Nader, then it would have been someone else.
Nader was NOT a Superman who was able to destroy the entire Democratic Party.
He was a rather wimpy, unattractive man who merely pointed to the vacuum.

Continuing to ascribe super human powers to Nader only prevents the Democratic Party from facing the REAL problems...the internal cancer of "Centrism" that has infected the guts of a once proud Pro-Working Class political party.

The Democratic Party NEEDS to return to its roots.

"In our day these economic truths have become accepted as self-evident. We have accepted, so to speak, a second Bill of Rights under which a new basis of security and prosperity can be established for all—regardless of station, race, or creed.

Among these are:

The right to a useful and remunerative job in the industries or shops or farms or mines of the nation;

The right to earn enough to provide adequate food and clothing and recreation;

The right of every farmer to raise and sell his products at a return which will give him and his family a decent living;

The right of every businessman, large and small, to trade in an atmosphere of freedom from unfair competition and domination by monopolies at home or abroad;

The right of every family to a decent home;

The right to adequate medical care and the opportunity to achieve and enjoy good health;

The right to adequate protection from the economic fears of old age, sickness, accident, and unemployment;

The right to a good education.

All of these rights spell security. And after this war is won we must be prepared to move forward, in the implementation of these rights, to new goals of human happiness and well-being."--FDR

If the Democratic Party can no longer STAND and proudly PROCLAIM dedication to these values,
I not sure I can continue to work FOR what is called the "Democratic Party" today.

"When given the choice between a Republican, and a Democrat who acts like a Republican, the voters will choose the Republican every time." ---Harry Truman
