Middle Ages in the Muslim world they had aplenty, and when they had 'em they were more advanced than our Middle Ages. Their Middle Ages and their careful preservation of philosophical works from the ancient world - which were thoughtlessly discarded and suppressed in Christian Europe- made Europe's Renaissance possible.
