I know it is pesky... but the US has been moving in this direction for a while
Erzats capitalism, erzats democracy... it seems all modern nations go through this... sooner or later.
And I am not kidding... do read a little into that history. The parallels are just astounding... and have been for a while... of course there are differences, but that is because dictablandas are not as obvious as open fascism that people in the US think off.

I'm not scared. (I know, I know...I should be, right?)
I studied modern German history in college for one semester. I found it interesting and did quite a bit of independent reading beyond that when the class ended. If you think we're anything like Germany in that period, you have done some serious misreading of history or you've had professors who have done you a disservice. Look into getting a refund.

If you're going to discover new words to try to impress people on the Internet, at least spell them correctly.
I'm not normally a spelling Nazi (Oh, there's a Germany reference!) but since you've used the word three times so far and it's clearly new to you, I thought I'd try to help.

And I am not fucking kidding. Best case they do what the Democrats say they will do and Roberts will not intervene. Worst case... well you'll see... and it is not fun.
But perhaps it is time for the US population to learn that lesson...

I'm interested, but I don't let politics affect my emotions. I used to, but I learned that it accomplishes nothing.
But back to the issue:
1. What part of the First Amendment gives the government the power to restrict any speech?
2. Should corporations be exempt from other freedoms and restrictions in law? If so, which ones?

28. Corporations had avenues to spend their money but those |
|
avenues were monitored. Corporations are "Not" people, they are not individual they don't have a heart beat.
Unfettered and unrestricted financing will ensure that corporations can buy Congress, they can buy your local tax assesor. They will shut down our free speech by crushing our avenues to express ourselves.
Your number 2 point implies that corporations are people.
Amendment I Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the government for a redress of grievances.
Where in the first Amendment does it mention corporations? The amendment does mention "People". Corporations are entities not people.

Oh, and by the way, your definition of a person (having a heartbeat) wouldn't fly with many people on here. Careful now.

the word "people" is not in the same clause as free speech.
Since you pointed out the word, I'm just telling you that there's probably a reason the Founders used it in the last clause, but not in the other. Perhaps they WERE talking about organizations (not people) as they did in using the word "press." The press isn't people, is it?
No.
So this entire issue has nothing to do with whether corporations are people. It has to do with whether the Constitution grants the government the power to restrict speech of any kind.
It doesn't.

It's horrifying to read it in print. Dred Scott was his name. He was a person. He was an American. He was considered property. He tried for his own freedom with the supreme court. And lost.
So comparing it to that case-the only way to get our freedom from the corporations is a civil war.

|
It's also the Democrats. Both of them have been implementing very corporate-friendly, anti-civil rights policies over the last 10 decades or so. For every good policy they implement, there are 10 of them that cancel it out and do no good for the people of this country. Bottom line is we are being marched towards totalitarian rule, likely with a one world government where a small number of elites control everything and anyone who speaks out will be brutally silenced in the same way that Hitler would silence people.
