Every group has it's sordid histories. White Europeans have seen inspiring events and shameful events, like any other population. The reason we don't have "white history month" is because that is the already the standard view. It's like asking why Israel doesn't have an "Israeli History Awareness Month" in their curriculum.

We could use something like a "Class History Month", however. As it's taught in highschools, history isn't so much "white history" as "rich white history".

And in ways many might never guess. When I was a kid I thought Europeans who came to America were all like the Pilgrims because that's what they taught us in school. Nearly fifty years later I found out my ancestors were imprisoned as Covenantors, then sold as indentures to a colonial plantation for the price of passage. Luckily mine didn't suffer the fate of many of these Scottish exiles; i.e., the men didn't have their ears lopped off by the common executioner and the women were not branded with a hot iron. So much for all those decorations of smiling pilgrims feasting on turkey and pumpkin pie. We all have a story to tell and many of those stories don't resemble anything we've been taught.
