Is This For Real Or An E-mail Scam?
A devastating earthquake measuring 7.0 on the Richter scale has struck Haiti causing an unfolding humanitarian crisis. Children have been killed and injured — many are in desperate need of clean water, shelter and medical help.If you are willing to help them through the Disasters Emergency Committee (UNITED KINGDOM) just reply back and them we will inform you on what to do kind heart,Thank You Very Much For Your Kind Help.

5. Scam
Notice the reply back for more information request.....
Most solicitations just ask for the money and give you an address to send it to.
Which is why people are told to donate to well known and reputable groups only.
Send the e-mail to your state's Attorney general office..let them figure out if this is legit.
It does not feel legit.

7. Scam- the language and grammar
don't ring true. "Kind heart" in a fundraising e-mail? "reply back and THEM we will inform you..."? Scam, absolutely.
Check out any charity on www.charitynavigator.com
Doctors Without Borders and World Food Program are legit and get good ratings.

11. IIRC, the number is around 400 entities claiming
to be collecting for Haiti.

I wouldn't trust a solicitation via email.

Delete the damn thing . the internet is full and packed with scams. Find an organization you know is real and you contact them. Don't even reply to anyone you are not completely sure of because when you do you are now in their data base and will continue to get their and many other emails.
