They *MUST* act *NOW* - - NOW is the time!

The supreme court just opened the floodgates. This is incredibly serious. Think about this scenario:

*Moderate, Liberal, and Progressive Senators must be absolutely quaking in their boots. If they were afraid before of losing their elections by speaking out too forcefully or legislating against the corporations imagine how they will feel now that the corps can gun full force?

*Come November, if this is not reversed, there will be massive rollout of the most threatening and powerful ads against every liberal congressman and senator, and there could very well be a loss of a number of seats. What will that do to the sitting legislatures? It will have a chilling effect on our representation. And if it is allowed to stand there will be few left to fight on our behalf.

NOW IS THE TIME. There is no other choice. We can no longer "wait" for this particular change because if we do not at the very least reverse the effect of this ruling, there will be little representatives willing to risk their seats to fight against the corporate powers.

The progressive media will understand this, as will our more progressive representatives. But we will have to push many of our representatives to recognize the urgency and importance that they must act with to change this situation in the next few months.

We have our work cut out for us.

Some of them may try, but their efforts will be feckless and ineffective. At least they can tell us they tried after they fail. That will be comforting, won't it?

8. I have to say, if Obama and the Congress can reverse this SCOTUS ruling with serious legislation

I will consider them to have made serious "Change" and essentially have taken a HUGE step in saving Democracy. I hope they are up to it.
