John Boehner - Decision Is A "big win for the First Amendment and a step in the right direction."
Republicans standing up for those poor, oppressed corporations who were unable to express themselves. :sarcasm:

"With today's monumental decision, the Supreme Court took an important step in the direction of restoring the First Amendment rights of these groups by ruling that the Constitution protects their right to express themselves about political candidates and issues up until Election Day." - Senate Republican leader Mitch McConnell of Kentucky.

"I think the Supreme Court decisions today are a big win for the First Amendment and a step in the right direction." - House Republican leader John Boehner of Ohio.

"Today's ruling protects the First Amendment rights of organizations across the political spectrum, and is a positive for the political process and free enterprise." - Robin Conrad of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce National Chamber Litigation Center.

"The Supreme Court's ruling frees American business from the yoke of second-class citizenship. ... The reason American business is active in politics in the first place is to influence public policies that impact the prosperity of its employees and shareholders." - Gregory Casey, president and CEO of the Business and Industry Political Action Committee.

3. Gregory Casey's comments...
"frees American business from the yokes of second-class citizenship"

kinda says a lot there... "they" see it as second class citizenship while "we" are trying to figure out how a f-in corporation is a citizen.... still scratching my head on that.

8. How anyone can view a corporation as a person is beyond me
If you have a for profit motive, you have an against people orientation. That's a dangerous road for our government to continue (as it has already been heading that way) down.

10. President Obama's Effort To Limit The Ruling Will Be Spun As Disregard For The Law
Plus, since the ruling benefits corporations, cue the screams of socialism from the corporate media.

11. Republicans will be opposed to Democrats no matter what the issue.
Democrats should start demanding no one be covered by any health care reform. Republicans would then have to counter with single payer and everyone covered.
