Many of you dont get it (re: overturning, removing, impeaching SCOTUS) |
|
This also extends to the "Congress should pass a law to stop this" crowd.
Congress is not going to pass any law, this ruling will see fit that PAC's are created that push for their election and re-elections. Congress has hit the jackpot, they are going to reap millions of dollars worth of publicity and support. It also gave them cover from having to do anything for "we the people".
Even IF Congress, or members of, were against this, they refuse to pass laws when they are in charge and have a strong majority, do you really think that now they are going to get a spine or do something Statesman-like.
Some even suggest that we could change the Constitution? seriously? Last I remember it took the votes of 2/3 of the Congress to get that done. How the holy hell are we supposed to get 2/3 behind an action that many are not against. We cant get 50+1 to do anything, much less a super-majority.

1. The most that DC has offered |
|
is to 'limit' the effect of the ruling. Lucky if we can get that done. I doubt if it can be much. You're right I doubt if we even have 50 in the Senate.

2/3 of congress but then needs to be ratified by 3/4 of the state legislatures, they have a set time frame for that, I think it is 7 years.. But hell they couldn't even get an amendment passed granting equal rights to women.
There is no way in hell they will cut of this much cash.. not gonna happen, we are totally screwed as a republic, we are now a corporate entity with a government that will be truly bought and paid for by big business.

5. The only solution is to get out there and protest. |
|
Remember when no one did anything when the Dancing (on We The People's grave) Supremes picked our President for us and wouldn't count our votes? It made you mad, it made you angry but it didn't make you get off your duff and protest.
Well the Dancing (on We The People's grave) Supremes have done it again. They have distorted and manipulated Democracy and dumped on every individual American voter. So, what are you going to do about it this time?????

8. Except that it did make millions of people get out and protest. |
|
Apparently you missed that part and it's no great wonder as the M$M completely ignored millions in the streets all across the nation.
But you go right ahead...

9. I think this calls for something way beyond "protesting". Like open revolt. |

6. Or we could get 2/3 of the state legislatures to call a Constitutional Convention |
|
to propose the amendment. Farfetched, I know, but that is the other option.

10. Question: aren't state legislators also on the gravey train now too? |
|
I fail to see how we can get ANY "elective" body to correct this, as there are no more "elected" bodies TO correct this. They are ALL legal legislative prostitutes now.
The pols who really are PUBLIC servants are already few and far between. Not many will be in office for long. They will be replaced by performance artists/whores who will dance for the ones who get them in office.
Legislative bodies just became history; they are just theater from now on. Well, they have been for some time, but now it is official and out in the open. The republic is dead. All Hail the Corporation!
But why should we worry? 'Our' reps have all that dry powder stored away. They use it for stage makeup, evidently.

11. What's scary about a convention is that |
|
it has the power to throw out the present constitution and give us a new one- and that may not be to our liking.
