4. Unions make up 9% of the work force |
|
What percentage of the workforce is made up of the corporations in this country? The power shifts according to the FR logic, they should be happy.
But this SC decision also means that Liberal causes (ACLU, Green Peace, labor for example) can have more of an active influence, too.

Really, none of them belong or have relatives who are members of a union? Absolutely incredible!

8. funny thing is, alot of them probably belong to unions ... |
|
... construction workers, metal workers, auto workers, etc etc ... not trying to stereotype but blue collar grunts tend to be low information voters and don't even realize that the unions they're complaining about, are the ones they belong to!
Just like folks with Medicare picketing against "government run health care".

A big chunk of what I did was calling people on medicare/medicaid to get their opinions on it, what could be improved, etc. There was absolutely nothing political about it, even though it was being done just as healthcare reform started. However, like clockwork, every single shift you'd hear from the 75 year old grandmother on medicare who would say "I love medicare, I don't want them to change anything, but I want you to put down that I'm completely against government healthcare."
When Obama later talked about the letters he get from people on medicare who say "Don't take away my medicare, and dont let the government run health care!" everyone on DU was shocked, but I was just laughing to myself saying yup, that's exactly how it is.

I was amazed at their views. Many said Reagan was the greatest president. One woman told me she would never vote for a democrat ( I was there for my candidate's campaign.)
