3. Now That I've Calmed Down
I can see the party started almost a year ago. Still ... can we say, now, that we fully understand exactly who and what our universities exist for?

4. Food, Inc. opened my eyes big-time
Even my republican husband watched it with me and was disturbed by it. We went to land-grant schools.

They're as much a business as everything else is these days.

5. You need to read more about what the consortium is about. Like most things, it has corporate
sponsors, as well as scientists from around the world. I'm hoping they will eliminate plastic bags and bottles.

http://www.sustainabilityconsortium.org/about

"The Sustainability Consortium is an independent group of scientists and engineers from leading academic research institutions around the world who engage with other leading researchers from the NGO, Governmental, and Industrial sectors to build a scientific foundation that drives innovation to improve consumer product sustainability."

6. Yeah
And independent group of scientists and engineers who are funded by ...?

I expect the consumer is the product they'd most like to sustain.
