What a Surprise! SCOTUS Sucks Up to Corporate Power – Protecting Artificial People and Real Property
Yep, SCOTUS. Corporations are People. And corporations are People “that” are eternal. Great. Got it.

What else is different that doesn't get much mention: Corporations are People that can be owned eternally.

Combine these two with the Conservative attitudes that “Taxes are for Little People” and "Repeal the Inheritance Tax -- I mean, 'Death Tax' -- Now!" and it becomes obvious that the corporation’s owners will continue to do.

The Bottom line also becomes obvious: The rich will accelerate the speed by which they can amass wealth and concentrate power at the expense of We the People, individually and collectively.

All hail John Roberts! They of Wall Street salute you!

Thanks for reminding us, SCOTUS. Now's the time to get busy, People.

6. What I'm actually hoping for is to prod Obama into...ACTION!

As in Democratic Action, so that he becomes the great leader and all that I know he can be.

4. Remember that Arlen Specter (up for re-election in 2010) voted to confirm Thomas, Alito, Scalia

and Roberts.

Snarlin' Arlen is currently pretending to be a D, because he knows the teabaggers prefer Toomey. But a real Democrat, Joe Sestak (see links in my sig) is running against Specter in the primary.

If you'd rather not see Specter continue to fill a Senate seat as long as his health holds out (which may not be long and the next PA Governor is 99.99% certain to be a repub), please consider supporting Sestak with your time and/or money. He has an uphill battle because the party doesn't want to contest the seat. Problem is, many polls have shown Sestak to do better against Toomey than Specter. I think too many D's in PA have for too long known all the reasons NOT to support Specter and are having a hard time saying they will vote for him, even against Toomey.

Edited to include Roberts

7. Oh yeah. There's a difference between Democrats.
Democrats, to me, are those who believe all people are created equal and work to make this a better country for ALL Americans.

I have family in PA. I will tell them about Mr. Sestak.

For me and Arlen, it's personal...

... as well as a question of national security.

8. Thanks, I hope your family will support Sestak
He is fighting an uphill battle against the establishment. He needs any support of any kind that he can get. Or the best we will get is a Lieberman-like Specter until his health fails and he is replaced by a republican.

10. let's see . . . Legislative, check . . . Executive, check . . . Judicial, check . . .
well, they finally did it . . . the corporate oligarchy now owns all three branches of our government . . . whatever protections we thought we might have from the judiciary don't exist . . . it's a slam dunk for corporate power in this country -- and no one with any kind of power or influence is doing anything about it . . . damn shame, too . . . three branches of government with checks and balances seemed like such a good idea way back when . . .
