Right-wing Saudi dynasty endorses right-wing Fox News dynasty.
This week, Prince Alwaleed bin Talal al-Saud of Saudi Arabia — the largest shareholder of News Corp outside the Murdoch family — endorsed Rupert Murdoch’s son James to succeed the elder Murdoch when he retires. Alwaleed, King Abdullah’s nephew, is Saudi Arabia’s richest person and the world’s 22nd wealthiest (Murdoch is number 132). He holds large stakes in many American companies, including Citi. The prince met with Murdoch last week to discuss a “future potential alliance with News Corp,” and he told Charlie Rose Wednesday about his respect for the Murdoch dynasty:

ALWALEED: I met with Mr. Rupert Murdoch and Mr. James Murdoch. We are always in tough. I’m second biggest shareholder there. And no doubt that News Corp is moving on all the fronts. You’ve seen how FOX rating is skyrocketing. … James is now managing Europe and Asia. … I’ll be the first one to nominate him to be the successor of Mr. Rupert Murdoch, god forbid if something happens to him. … I have full confidence in , full trust in him, and he’s capable. He’s really Rupert Murdoch in the making, and he’s almost there now.

How fun! Now we can see what's in store for the next election! Saudi Arabia can donate, News Corp can donate! It will be raining money!

1. Arrrghhh .... I've been posting about the Fox ownership for a long time
Who knows what's going to happen from the horrific SCOTUS decision, whether or when foreign money will permeate into our electoral process; but we might as well say we have foreign entities influencing our government through Fox News - all the anti-government rhetoric, lies, disinformation ....

Rupert became a U.S. citizen just to own an American TV network! And the Saud prince owns nearly 6% of the company! Rupert's News Corp is global , and is working a broadcasting deal with China, too!

At first I just joked about it, but the longer I thought about it the more it troubled me. How can any of us be assured the Fox corporate office isn't making deals to shaft our viewing public to fulfill the needs of say, Communist China? We'd never know, would we? Of course that could be said of any company, I suppose.

Yet, I sometimes wonder what all the right-wing patriots who love their Fox News with all the red, white & blue fancy graphics, would think if they knew? I know they'd crucify a Democrat if the shoe were on the other foot.

I wonder if Rupert's son is an Australian citizen or did he become an American citizen-of-convenience like his dad? If he's Australian, what does that mean?
