Bless the fireman, who endured bites from a horribly frightened dog to be the ultimate hero. Bless the dog, who will hopefully get a chance for a loving family and a second chance.

As cynical as I am, I, like Anne Frank, "think that most people are really good at heart." Most do good in rather undramatic ways that don't get any attention.
My wife volunteers at a shelter and last week she told me of a woman who came in and asked for a cat that was most unlikely to be adopted. An, older, not very attractive, and frightened cat was selected. She took it happily.
