I have never conflated Osama and Obama
Edited on Sun Jan-24-10 12:17 PM by Kurt_and_Hunter
I have never conflated Osama and Obama. I have never accidentally said it or written it reversed.

Ever.

I have also never conflated Saddam Hussein and Osama Bin Laden.

Ever.

I have probably conflated Iraq and Iran once or twice, but with people I have a general picture in mind and none of those folks look anything alike.

In the first 30 seconds of FACE THE NATION John McCain referred to the Obama tape, immediately correcting himself.

Sometimes it's willful but not always... and the accidental slips are more telling than the intentional ones. Cable newscasters seem to be as prone to this as are Republican hacks.

I think these people have a muslim/foreign name category in their heads... "funny" names like Obama and Osama are in the same mental compartment and sometimes they pull out the wrong one.

And that is quite telling.

1. No it is scripted. Was the tape is you can and watch their eyes.
There is almost always a "Tell" a couple of seconds before they make the "error".

3. To be fair
so did Ted Kennedy. They're very similar names that are used frequently in discussion national issues.

4. Dick Durbin did it too and he is very close to the president.
