Marshal Plan for Haiti
yes, there are more and more signals that this is where the US and the World are moving.

The UN has started a program to get the LOCALS to do the removal of crap, and other essential work, realize they are paying three bucks a day, when the prevailing wage is one buck.

There is now, you just have to read between the lines, increasing coordination with all the children... read NGOs... yep somebody has taken a seat at the table and had a long talk with them.

And the intended public for this is actually getting it. And that is not just the people inside of Haiti. So this will make a certain group in the US angrier once they realize who in the macro political level this is about, and what this is about.

Oh and quite honestly readying the press the target is getting it too... that call for ABSOLUTE party discipline is partly about this...

On the bright side, the PEOPLE OF HAITI will actually get substantive help, and I can get behind that. Even if I get the real world, zero sum game that goes on in things like this...

Oh and yes definitely, I should thank my Poli Sci Prof...

Nice to see some attention still being directed there on this site; thanks for keeping folks up to date.

3. Some of us will continue to pay attention
and the fear that some of the same crap that went on during Katrina will happen here is real. And some will... but for macro political reasons there will be significant diffrences from the usual pattern of the last thirty years.

We may even see a change in the international finance system and aid...

There are macro political reasons for that. But hell, if that helps the Haitian people, I am all for it.

But the American Left is getting blindsided by this... while they scream disaster capitalism... something new is coming out of the rubble... and it is damn early to see whether this is good, bad, or most likely shades of gray.

but I'm having a difficult time understanding your post.

Could you translate:
There is now, you just have to read between the lines, increasing coordination with all the children... read NGOs... yep somebody has taken a seat at the table and had a long talk with them.

And the intended public for this is actually getting it. And that is not just the people inside of Haiti. So this will make a certain group in the US angrier once they realize who in the macro political level this is about, and what this is about.

Maybe it's just me, but I'm very confused by your sentence structure here...

5. Translation
and yes I was trying to be obtuse on purpose.

But today they authorized red helmets, to coordinate all aid. These people will be under UN direction and control, and include all NGOs present. This means coordination.

I have been reading the Mexican and other press agencies and for the first time in a long time you do not read the Yankee go Home in the left leaning press.

And finally Chavez, the true target in a macro political system level, got the message. He's demanded absolute loyalty to the Bolivarian Revolution. Yes, went so far as to scold the Communist Party. Think Germany and Marshal Plan and the USSR. Something very similar is happening here.

Final translation... the US left is going to be left behind... in ways that many here cannot comprehend. I owe this devious way of thinking to a Poli Sci professor who was once an AF vet and a company man... and a fan of Real Politik, and the zero sum game of the cold war.

6. Why don't you just link to the articles that discuss it?
Instead of this cryptic, almost conspiratorial, tone? I mean it's been in the news for almost a week.

7. Because I have in the past, like every damn fucking day
and this is not conspiratorial.

This is MY OPINION... I did not know that we needed to refer continuously to stories we have posted in the past.

As to the editorials in La Jornada or for that matter the Venezuelan press, well I have in the past as well.

Reality is that something major, not conspiratorial, just major... happened in the world system.

There are more changes than just the disaster in Haiti.

And reality is... read this site, the US Left is being left well behind the power curve. Incidentally so is the American Right, but we mostly do not deal with them here. This is new... and the jury is out as to how good, bad or shades of gray this will be.

8. Thanks for providing links.
It always seem strange when someone posts about new information without linking the source. It's not as if any us has any special access to this information other than media available online.
