Superdome...then and now
Edited on Mon Jan-25-10 12:41 PM by sledgehammer
From despair...

To joy...

Great turnaround! May the best team win the Superbowl, but my heart is with the city and the people of New Orleans after everything they've been through in the last few years. Go Saints!

1. I agree-and I'm a Brett Favre fan
Seeing the kid from oklahoma kick the winning fieldgoal, and the sheer joy on the team's faces...that was a good moment

3. I was there. They are still partying in NOLA. Still crying and hugging strangers.
You guys have no idea what this team means to this city. The amount of pride they bring, after the Rove machine turned America's hatred onto New Orleans on the heels of catastrophe, is immeasurable.

5. Are we allowed to voice our support for Indianapolis?

I like Peyton manning alot. Although I wanted to see Farve win.
Quite the turnaround for New Orleans though, indeed.

Someday my brownies will win it.
Evidently, they kicked ass before the NFL came around.

6. NO! Just kidding, Peyton's from New Orleans, so I guess it's cool.
The Mannings really are great to the community. Archie's in a tough spot having to root against his former team that he's worked with for so long after his playing career.

7. Yay team!!!
because nothing spells recovery like a multi million dollar team in a multi million dollar stadium owned my multi millionaires!!!

Sorry, there are whole areas that have yet to be touched by the hand of recovery.

8. Go to nola.com if you want to see a bunch of non-millionaires celebrating and spending $
in New Orleans. Say what you want to about stadium deals in pro football-I'd probably agree with a lot of it. You just can't deny that it brings in tons of tourism dollars to a city that based it's economy on tourism, and that desperately needs it.

9. Good point. And...
...it is also great for people in NO to have something to cheer about. The Saints have been an integral part of NO for over 40 years. They don't just cater to the millionaires.

No doubt that recovery has been slow, but how can this win hurt? If anything, it brings a renewed focus and $$$ to the city.

10. The Saints will have a special place in my heart for denying the advance of the Vikings and Favre.
Strong Brees Sinks Viking Ship!

Give it up and retire for real this time, old man.

11. Brett Favre...a man true to his word
Or maybe not.

But then again, yes.

Or no.

He thinks he's playing (with) the media, but all he's done is turn himself into a joke.

Retire, for pete's sake. Go away.

PS...Go New Orleans!

12. I was cheering for the Saints last night but Brett gave a good showing as a QB
He got them into the play offs and if for a couple of calls, the game may have gone to Favre.
