Daschle: House Dems should ‘do the right thing,’ pass Senate healthcare bill
House Democrats should “do the right thing” and approve the Senate’s healthcare bill, former Senate Majority Leader Tom Daschle (D-S.D.) said Monday.

Daschle said it would require “political courage,” to take up the Senate legislation, but that this was better than doing nothing.

Daschle, who was President Barack Obama's failed nominee to be the White House healthcare czar, added, “you could argue that there is just as much political downside to not to pass this than to pass this.”

Daschle made the remarks to reporters after a Bipartisan Policy Center event on the national debt.

So, is this a shock that a health care industry lobbyist wants the House to swallow and pass the Senate industry blow job bill?

Daschle's Firm And Group Have Ties To Private Health Care Industry

The firm that houses two of the three former Senate majority leaders who proposed a comprehensive health care compromise plan on Wednesday has been paid hundreds of thousands of dollars to lobby on behalf of key players in the health care industry. In addition, the company that presented those findings, the Bipartisan Policy Center, counts as a major fundraiser one of the country's largest pharmaceutical companies.

12. “political courage,”?
what does that ass wipe know about “political courage”, his only interest is just like all of our political leaders interests, and those interest being, "Wow I can make a lot of money off this!!" Hookers have more integrity and honor than they do. They give an honest service. No offense to Hookers.

16. Well he would, wouldn't he?
After all, he's a recipient of $$$ from the health care industry. Then there's his wife. But he would not acknowledge any conflict of interest, no sirree Bob! And then he's also a member of the most elite club in the world, the U.S. Senate -- as is our President. And they think they know the right way to do things.

Fortunately for the rest of us, the members of the House come up for election every 2 years, and they know at a visceral level that the Senate bill will cause widespread outrage as its outlines become apparent, with the most meager improvements on the one hand, coupled with the onerous mandates on the other, not to mention the tax on good health care plans, ensuring that there will be fewer and fewer of *those* to deal with.

I don't see how anyone can take him seriously on this topic, honestly.
