Eleven actions that will bring back the USA |
|
Edited on Tue Jan-26-10 08:28 PM by howaboutme
1. Eliminate Wall Street bankers as an entity that is entitled to have influence over Congress
2. Eliminate big multi-national business CEOs and the Chamber of Commerce as an influential entity
3. Forgo those who believe Israel should be given biased unilateral support from the USA, as well as continued billions in foreign aid from all Americans (rich or poor, Walmart or Wall St) and continued unfettered foreign policy support.
4. Eliminate private military contractors that have been able to have more influence as mercenaries than they are worth.
5. Forgo ALL special interest groups that represent other countries (Mexico-China-India).
6. Forgo a World Trade Organization that has interests that are more about screwing America than fair trade.
7. Revamp corporate law so that those campaigns run by corporate interests instead of people interests are outlawed.
8. Eliminate the incentive for politicians to spend other peoples money to get re-elected.
Edited to replace the 10 + 1 with eleven and the +1 was not intended as rec.
9. Challenge a partisan Supreme Court decision that would grant personhood privileges to inanimate corporations that are far likely to support Chinese interests over US interests.
10. Require that those in government be held fully accountable for incompetence and for decisions that benefit a few instead of the many.
11. Demand that the media and our government must represent all the people and not just special groups with money. Require that all media talking heads (R/L) have offsetting political views. These are our airwaves.

when you correlate the decline in the USA with the rise in wealth of the many special interests. we need to eliminate the special interests and replace them with the US people and that will eliminate the problem.

4. What "golden age" are you aiming to restore this country to? |
|
There has never been a time in US history when moneyed interests did not influence politics.

money has always been able to buy off politicians. But there was a time not long ago and it was during my lifetime when average Americans made 1/50 (or more) of what the moneyed elite made as CEOs and Wall Street financiers. I'd like to see those good times restored for average Americans. We had a far better country than what we have today, when only special people have influence and riches. I prefer to see it occur politically through our system rather than through major upheaval. that said if things continue on this unfair course of action the latter is a possibility.
