Americans are idiots.
Poll: Fox is most trusted name in news

A poll finds that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Fox is the most trusted television news network in the country, according to a new poll out Tuesday.

A Public Policy Polling nationwide survey of 1,151 registered voters Jan. 18-19 found that 49 percent of Americans trusted Fox News, 10 percentage points more than any other network.

Thirty-seven percent said they didn’t trust Fox, also the lowest level of distrust that any of the networks recorded.

There was a strong partisan split among those who said they trusted Fox — with 74 percent of Republicans saying they trusted the network, while only 30 percent of Democrats said they did.

CNN was the second-most-trusted network, getting the trust of 39 percent of those polled. Forty-one percent said they didn’t trust CNN.

Each of the three major networks was trusted by less than 40 percent of those surveyed, with NBC ranking highest at 35 percent. Forty-four percent said they did not trust NBC, which was combined with its sister cable station MSNBC.

1. Fox and Politico...
Are proof that Americans are idiots. I doubt the poll means anything, however.

20. Poll was done by PPP
That is a Democratic leaning polling firm.

Politico is just reporting the story.

The poll just means that increasingly ALL Republicans watch Fox.

4. Idiots and also lazy and apathetic and selfish and wasteful.
Americans need to be stripped of everything that was ever sacred to them, just to remind them of all the things they never fought for.

Myself included.

8. I can't blame the masses...
They have been manipulated and the laws of this country and our whole political system make it so that it is easy to manipulate the populace.

The one thing I can blame them for is apathy in general, but even that can be attributed to a lot of the powers that be.

15. People like to be told they're great.
They like to think they are special and right about things.

That's what fox does for a real portion of American society. It's sad but true.

21. Hey, I don't feel so badly any more.
I posted the same subject line in a reply. And I thought of you just as I posted it, thinking that if you saw it you'd condemn me for another one of my sweeping generalizations. Sadly, I'm afraid there's more truth to the simple statement than we would like.

Shiny, flashy things are attractive to Americans. But I can hardly blame them since they've been slowly massaged and warmed in to this state of mind.

Very sad, and maddening.
