We could potentially be facing the most serious scandal since Watergate!!!!!!
Who will be Archibald Cox? Who will be Sam Ervin? Who are Woodward and Bernstein? And who will be the Judge Sirica?

1. I know! Plamegate and Torturegate and Attorneygate and...
all the others were just so *boring* and trivial.

15. Yeah, we'll have to "keep focused on the future" rather than on this issue, too.
Nothing to see here. Move along... again.

4. There are no Archibald Coxes. There are no Sam Ervins. There are no Woodsteins. And there are no
Judge Siricas. There is only a right-wing society, eaten up with right-wing religiosity, avariciously imploding upon itself. :P

And I think they still do.

This thing has legs.

10. I really, really want it to,
but not a single one of the Brooks Brothers thugs who interfered with the electoral process in Florida faced even a slap on the wrist, let alone jail time. So why should Republicans be afraid to wire-tap a US Senator's office?

I'll bet there's a lot of tooth gnashing in the GOP tonight.

12. Nope. Not gonna happen. Republicans own the media now. This will be nothing.
Back in the day, there were three teevee stations. And they closed down at midnight while the American flag waved onscreen and the Star Spangled Banner played. Not today. CNN and FOX are on 24/7 and they'll report on farts and dingleberries if it will keep them on air. It's a different time, a different place. Tomorrow all the pundits will be telling us how this is "nothing."

"Move along, Sonny. Nothing to see here."

16. I think so. No one is going to take this seriously.
I don't mean no one at all. I just mean that there's no way in hell this is going to be big. Minimize Repub crimes, maximize Dem crimes.

Words can hardly do the situation justice. What a shit country it is now. I hate to say that, but it's hard to say anything else. It could hardly be worse without outright fascism.

13. There won't be a Woodward and Bernstein because
there are no reporters, or journalist or what ever they were left. All we got are people who sit in front of the camera and read prepared questions and prepared news. Someone once called them newsreaders. I guess that's what they are. But on Fox we have to digress and call em Newsliars.

17. Potentially? Did you say potentially? After what Bush pulled for over 8 years?
This is just a minor wiretapping conspiracy of a US Senator.
6 months in jail, 1 month served, 5 months home detention, $1000 fine.
No fuss, no muss.

They're Republicons, they don't do hard time now.
Everything's changed since 9/11.
Bush is nice guy, Democrats bad guys.
Cheney is nice guy, Democrats are evil.
Condileeza Rice is smart, Democrats are dumb.
Rumsfeld went to war with the Army he had, Democrats got broken Army.

It's not their fault that gawd protects them, they are his people, after all.

Dude, if killing and torturing people and having it authorized and covered up by our government doesn't even warrant a serious investigation...

...then this is nothing.

and many others are all bigger than this little nugget of petty crime.

Crack open a book, or get a better yardstick of organized crime.
