As lawmakers consider eliminating a host of tax breaks for corporations, a key business group in Colorado has floated an idea that has raised eyebrows at the Capitol:

Removing the sales-tax exemption on groceries.

The idea comes as lobbyists, business organizations and sometimes officials and employees with companies themselves have implored lawmakers not to eliminate tax breaks they say are critical to businesses.

So, instead of cutting the tax breaks the businesses enjoy, such as sales-tax exclusions on energy, extensions on filing for operating losses, tax-exemptions for downloaded software, and enterprise zone property tax credits - NO! LET'S TAX GROCERIES!

Fucking greedy asshole bastards.

2. Ha! I'm sure they're in there.
The thing is, for every tax break NOT rescinded, more will be cut from K-12. So this is shaping up for a battle between education and business. Wonder who'll win THAT?
