Woman gets prison for 4th DUI (5-month-old baby in the back seat)

FREMONT, Neb. (AP) — A Fremont woman who was caught driving drunk with her 5-month-old baby in the back seat has been given 15-to-36 months in prison.

It was the fourth drunken-driving conviction for 33-year-old Spring Howley.

Judge John Samson of Dodge County District Court also fined Howley $1,000 and revoked her driver’s license for 15 years after she leaves prison.

She was sentenced on Monday.

Howley had pleaded guilty after prosecutors agreed to drop a count of child abuse.

I lost a sister to a Drunk back in the early 90s.

I have no sympathy for any punishment that comes down for people that knowingly create a mortal danger when they drive drunk.
