Pimpgate - O'Keefe Four arrested for alleged Landrieu attempted wiretapping

The reactions have been the truly fun part of this sad exercise, however. Attempting to wiretap a Senator's phone is certainly an extremely serious event. It once brought down a President, after all; and there is absolutely no chance that this story will just die in one 24-hour news cycle.

The reaction, first of all, from allegedly “fair and balanced” FoxNews, who, surprisingly, actually reported the arrest. First the “reporter” Eric Shawn describes the arrests as being in “the aftermath of what presumably was his (O'Keefe's) latest video project.”

Shawn then goes on to become O'Keefe's de-facto legal defense, when he states “No where in the media material provided by the Department of Justice is there an allegation that they were trying to wiretap the Senator’s phones, though there are reports a listening device was found in one of the suspect’s cars. The nature of O’Keefe’s apparent video project also remains unclear. He spent the night in jail and his lawyer was waiting to hear from him. (O'Keefe's) Attorney Michael Madigan told (Shawn), 'We don’t have any of the facts yet, but James O’Keefe, at heart, is a really good kid. We are looking into this further and are awaiting hearing from James directly.' A source close to James (O'Keefe) told (Shawn) “they were not attempting to wiretap the phones or anything like that,” and another source said “he (O'Keefe) would not want to do anything wrong.”

Of course, O'Keefe has already caught two court cases in Pennsylvania and Delaware for his illegal videotaping in his ACORN smear campaign. Clearly, someone thought he's already “done something wrong”.
