Rachel was just on MSNBC giving her take on what needs to be said tonight at |
|
the SOTU address. Said it's not Candidate Obama any more, it's President Obama. If he tries to further the bipartisan argument, he can kiss any other agendas goodbye. It was well said, objective and I think she's right on. Hoping for a vid for those of you who missed it.

GOP at every turn, it's insanity to go out of your way to get a GOP vote for the sake of saying you're bipartisan. Go with what you have. And get a arm-twister to start doing some arm twisting among the Dems in the Senate. Reid isn't leading for shit. If Obama can't take the time to do some persuading himself, he needs to find a crew of people he can delegate to more aggressively work on the Senate Dems. I think there have been times when we could have done a better job of facing down the Republicans if we'd shown even a hint of solidarity among the Dems.

SOTU is the proper venue for that. He could at least allude to it.
I've been saying since day one to send Biden down to the Senate floor to pull an LBJ. He's perfect for that assignment. At least in the interim -- it appears it isn't looking good for a Reid re-election in NV, so we could take that opportunity to move in a strong replacement.

8. I thought that was what he'd use Biden from the moment he was selected as VP. |
|
If the President is going to take on the R's he might as well do it head on, but not in assholish language. At least the shock value of a polite confrontation (now, there's an oxymoron!) would keep the talking heads busy for a while. Smelling salts all around. :-)

"If he tries to further the bipartisan argument, he can kiss any other agendas goodbye."
That needs to be said again.

10. She's always wonderful. I wish Tweety would get a hangnail or a head cold and |

missing tonight's SOTU. I won't be watching it live but I was planning on catching the re-run and I despise his blathering commentary. He talks over everyone and rarely says anything worth hearing.

9. Obama should be paying attention to Rachel Maddow instead of the people he's been listening |

to for the last year. Rachel is a smart person, and more often than not, she "gets it" when others seem to miss the point.
