Do you have all the W-2,. 1099, mortgage interest, etc you need to do your taxes yet?

Here it is January 27, and I'm still waiting for w-2 forms, mortgage interest report, student loan interest reports and a couple other odd forms so i can sit down and do my taxes.


On edit: I just started my folder for next year by filing my property tax receipt for this year.

I sold my old house and bought a new one in 2009, and still need to get the mortgage interest statement from my old house ... hope they know where I live now.

my employer sent out W-2s earlier than they usually have in the past.

Otherwise, I'm pretty much set. I can get those online if I need to.

9. When do 1099s have to be out by?

Seem to take forever, and then get amended later than that.

10. I used to wait until 15 April, but I can't anymore.

I have to get the taxes done early now so my eldest daughter can fill out the FASFA. Groan.
