The RW of the GOP has declared war on America and the sooner we and the President of the United States realize this, the better we will be able to fight them and preserve what is left of our democratic republic.

I must confess that I haven't heard anything about this- but if he is going there (and not announcing plans to become a Republican), I hope he brings extra protection.

19. I just heard Ed discussing it on his TV show -- I hadn't heard about it either. |
|
Apparently Boehner invited Obama to attend, and he accepted.
It will be interesting to see how it goes -- could go either way.

30. I think it shows he isn't ready to fight them. They are the enemy. |
|
He could Democrats motivated and united if he framed the repukes as the enemies they are. He have the power, we should be making them shake in fear, not showing them respect. Bipartisanshit is nothing but a naive pipe dream and not worth it, frankly. He won't get anything from them, and they will continue to obstruct and denigrate at every turn. I think it is a bad idea, a now win for Obama. It is time to destroy the obstructionists, not talk to them.

|
If he'd have declined (and they surely thought he would) the repukes could have said "look, he won't work with us". He's taken that bit of ammunition away from them.
I'm sure he can hold his own there.
