Teabugger Excuse In: "wanted to see how her staff would respond if the phones were inoperative"
Somehow I don't think that's going to set them free....

http://mediamatters.org/blog/201001270060

Instead, the official says, the men, led by conservative videomaker James O'Keefe, wanted to see how her local office staff would respond if the phones were inoperative. They were apparently motivated, the official says, by criticism that when Sen. Landrieu became a big player in the health care debate, people in Louisiana were having a hard time getting through on the phones to register their views.

That is, the official says, what led the four men to pull this stunt -- to see how the local staffers would react if the phones went out. Would the staff just laugh it off, or would they express great concern that local folks couldn't get through?

That's why the charge is just tampering. Well, we'll see, won't we?

1. I mean, this doesn't pass the smell test.
There's nothing wrong with the phones, and then the Village People show up and the phones go out. Sounds like a FOOLPROOF plan. No one could have figured it out!

3. I guess they found out that the local staffers would call the US Marshalls
to arrest the men committing felonies in their office. Shortly, they can learn everything involved with defending themselves in front of a Federal judge in a Federal Court and later they can learn how to survive in Federal prison.

4. I would bring full charges against them. Anything. Everything.

It is time to show them what rule of law means.

No mercy.

Fascinating logic.

10. Yes, how a listening device a couple of blocks away would help
determine how the staff reacted to no phone calls, that's not explained yet...

One of the Village people had a camera in his hard hat. Maybe that was radioed to the "listening device." Shit, I'm giving them ideas...

They'll float several and try to use them all.

8. Don't care what their excuse/reason for impersonating
someone else in a federal office building is. They deserve to go to jail.

11. If the teabuggers said this, they admitted that they committed a felony.
And that makes the entry under false pretenses a felony also. They could each be looking at 20 years and up to $500,00 in fines.

13. Well, would this work, "I wanted to see if the Bank Robbery security protocol was working."?
Or airport drug sniffing dogs were working.

Etc., etc...
