John, Elizabeth Edwards separate after 30 years.
The latest AP article on his separation. I hope no one suggests him for a high profile Democratic position in the future.

I wish the best for his wife and children.

I realize how easy it is to go off track. Marriage takes continuous effort.

3. He was my favoritce candidate after Kucinich in the primaries
I'm so glad he didn't win. It would have been hell for us if he had, and my respect for the shitbag went from stellar to shit overnight. What a dumbass running for the presidency with all THAT going on in the background. He should give up politics entirely now and become a lobbyist for Durex or something.

11. He's gotta feel like sh&t.
I'm not gonna pile on him. I just can't beat a guy when he's down. He screwed someone and wrecked his entire family. He's plenty shamed and punished. His life, as he knew it, is over. Imagine going the rest of your life with that on your soul and so publicly. And a baby, too? I'd want to just die.

I feel so sorry for Elizabeth and the kids. As if they weren't burdened enough.

18. I'm with you.
I can't help but feel sorry for him as a human being who is being shamed before the whole world. If there was no baby I think a lot of people would look at this differently. He will have to endure public scorn for the rest of his life and I just feel like there's enough of that to go around without me joining in.
The guy made a huge mistake and he'll have to live with the consequences. I can't judge him for trying to cover up behavior that he wasn't proud of.

14. Of course, I consider him to be the biggest dirtbag in this scandal
but I have to wonder about why Elizabeth went along with his running for President when she knew he was severely vulnerable on this. I still think that if Barack Obama had waited until 2012 or 2016 to run, Edwards might well have been the nominee. We'd have lost that election, and we'd have Caribou Barbie sitting behind President McLame tonight.

I also hold Andrew Young in contempt, he went along with the whole bullshit scheme until it was obvious that he wasn't going to get a job in an Edwards administration.

And the more I read about that looney tunes Rielle Hunter, the sadder I am that a man who wanted our trust and our vote was willing to open himself to blackmail from a psycho.

20. You've still got one thing to keep a barf bag handy for
When Elizabeth does finally pass on from her cancer, Johnny's going to turn on the crocodile tears at the funeral. In fact, trial lawyers are the best paid actors (as a group) in America.

19. what a train wreck
Two little kids (not including the two year old girl) and a terminally ill wife. Reports say that the narcissist in chief has moved out of their home in Chapel Hill. I don't even want to think about what the next few years will be like for the kids.

:puke:

But that said, I'm happy to see that Elizabeth is standing up for herself and kicking John to the curb.
