My Facebook friend is mad that Obama criticized the Supreme Court
Edited on Wed Jan-27-10 11:37 PM by Tony_FLADEM
"OBama clearly does not relate to middle america at all! Transparency and blame I am so tired of this crap! Who the hell scorns the Supreme Court and allows Democrats to stand and applaud because he does not agree with the justices. We have checks and balances in this country I guess he doesn't like that! The arrogancy,... the democrats have the numbers don't run for the hills, I thought we the people hold the power!"

She is attacking Obama for criticizing that decision that took power away from the people.

:wtf:

1. Your friend is sadly very ignorant as to what has occurred...
the overreaching beyond all precedence of five of the nine SC justices, and the incredible impact it will have on all of us and the future of this country. Perhaps she is amenable to being educated. If not, well....

30. Yes, exactly.
Anyone who thinks the Supreme Court doesn't deserve criticism is unpatriotic. Tell her that.

or do we have some people on DU attempting to find if this little poutrage will fly? I actually loved it--they deserved it. Some especially deserved it after the Bush v Gore decision. I'm sure ya'll remember when two supremes refused to recuse themselves for conflict of interest in that very very important decision. Then later, we find that Gore really did win the electoral votes as well as the popular votes. So, I can blame those supremes for the shite we have experienced in the last eight years, the lies, the corruption, the greed, the wars, and the dismantling of our infrastructure along with the middle class. I'd say they got quite the mileage for their man with that one decision. And, Sandra Day O'Connor voted with them and knew it was wrong.

Somebody told her she should be mad so she's dutifully responding as instructed, but there is clearly not enough analysis in her statement to lead me to believe she has any real anger.

Poutrage at best.

Who the hell scorns the Supreme Court and allows Democrats to stand and applaud because he does not agree with the justices.

In a State of the Union Address Franklin Roosevelt was very critical of the Supreme Court of his time for finding many of his New Deal programs unconstitutional.

They have to have something to feel outraged about. Tonight, the first thing they can think of is "how dare he talk to the Supreme Court like that?!"

They're cry babies. Show me a conservative and I'll show you a frightened little boy, pissing his pants in fear.

I don't get it. Why the heck would you do that on facebook? I have relatives, co-workers and a whole bunch of other people who I've friended. I'm not going to go all political on a social networking board.

This is the proper forum (though not for that opinion!), not facebook. It always baffles me. And I've known two friends who have lost friends over their political posts.

Several someones, really. I think in some small way they actually think they're changing minds or something by calling us brainwashed and throwing insults our way, indirectly or not. Also, the thumbs-up "likes" empower them and make them feel like they were justified in posting whatever moronic comment they did, from what I've observed. I'm going to quote you some bullshit someone I know said the night of the SOTU... I nearly puked and basically just wanted to punch someone after reading this HUGE thread of BS. Here's the SUPER CLEVER GEM that made my eyes roll so damn hard: "When Reagan was President, we had Bob Hope and Johnny Cash. Now that Obama is President, we have no Hope and no Cash." ...and they followed it up with an agreement because that's clearly a fact. :eyes: :eyes: :eyes: :eyes:

In the same thread, some other moron I know said that the first thing they didn't like about Obama was his middle name only because they thought we'd look like a "bunch of idiots" to the world voting a "Hussein" into office. But then this person thought he was the antichrist after looking into him further. Yeah, ok moron.

:argh:

I keep my personal politics off of my own Facebook page because silly me, I feel like my family and friends really don't need to be preached to, but with the preponderance of inexplicably right wing NYC friends who are on my list, I wonder if I SHOULDN'T start some sort of pushback. It's really obnoxious, you know?
