So, the wingnuts think Obama lacked decorum for speaking out on the SCOTUS decision.
Wonder what they have to say about what Sandra Day O'Connor said?

Retired justice Sandra Day O'Connor said last week's Supreme Court decision striking down restrictions on corporate spending in elections will energize an "arms race" in judicial elections and be a "problem for maintaining an independent judiciary."

Since leaving the court in 2006, O'Connor has campaigned against the election of state and local judges, and she said Tuesday that "increasingly expensive and negative campaigns for judicial office erode both the impartiality of the judiciary and the public perception of them."

O'Connor confined her remarks about the decision to the affect it will have on the overwhelming number of states and localities that elect judges. Federal judges are nominated by the president and confirmed by the Senate.

"In invalidating some of the existing checks on campaign spending, the majority in Citizens United has signaled that the problem of campaign contributions in judicial elections might get considerably worse and quite soon," O'Connor said at a symposium at Georgetown Law Center. She noted that each election cycle brings new spending records, especially in state supreme court races that have become special-interest battlegrounds.

2. I'd say that they both lacked decorum
But that's what a polarizing decision like this could be expected to create. They could have decided the case on much narrower terms and avoided the firestorm.

As for O'Connor? The right hasn't particularly liked her for quite some time. It's entertaining to watch them shift their focus from her to the new "center" of the court (Kennedy) who they used to be pretty happy with. Now he has cost them a few (but not near enough) decisions and they aren't pleased (though they're happy enough on this one).

5. I'd like to hear what they think of Reagan calling out the court for its decision on school prayer

Or Nixon slamming the Warren Court.

Both in the SOTU.

10. Never mind... I found it... it doesn't help.

Reagan said "And let me add here: So many of our greatest statesmen have reminded us that spiritual values alone are essential to our nation's health and vigor. The Congress opens its proceedings each day, as does the Supreme Court, with an acknowledgment of the Supreme Being. Yet we are denied the right to set aside in our schools a moment each day for those who wish to pray. I believe Congress should pass our school prayer amendment."

That's not undecorous... it's what President Obama should have done. "It has been ruled that this law was unconstitutional. I believe that corporate money directly involved in the political process endangers our great nation and I know many members on both sides of the aisle who agree with me (pause for applause and let those who don't stand bear the brunt of public scorn). Today I call on Congress to pass new laws that can pass judicial muster properly regulating these activitites... or, failing that, to begin the process of amending the Constitution to correctly reflect our shared values."

11. The GOP had best realize the Court lost some of its "Lustre" starting
in 2000 by appearing so political.

Common Sensers like me ask, Why did they throw this
bombshell ruling at this time??? The Campaign Finance
Law had languished for what seems like eons. The
timing smells.

President Obama criticised the Ruling not the Court.
