Y'all were supposed to remind me that I was going to quit this for a while. |

Can't beat myself up over the fucked up state of our country anymore. I'm need to go hang in the Pagan/Spirituality group for a while.

Sure, the state of the union is effed up and change we can believe doesn't appear to be on the immediate horizon.
Cue Bobby McFerrin's "don't worry, be happy". :)

i'm not going to shoosh you away.
you could do what i'm doing, read more and comment less. won't find yourself getting drawn into ridiculous strawman arguments, which in turn will also keep your blood pressure to an acceptable level.

6. young'uns?? shit, i'm reading three things right now. |
|
i'm reading the Singularity is Near again, and i just finished vol 5 of The Walking Dead. i have 6-11, and can't wait to finish.
i've also been thumbing my way through Timothy Leary's The Delicious Grace of Moving One's Hand again.
not bad for a young 30 yr old whippersnapper like myself, ey?
i've been tuning out a lot more here and there. i find i get frustrated and become non-functional after reading too much here.

10. no harm done, just giving jabs back. |

besides, there's a lot of under 25 folks out there that do read quite a lot. they're just overshadowed by the enormous amount of dumb fucks that can't find Iraq, or even their home state, on a map.
the idiots are always louder and more visible.

9. And I didn't mean the young didn't read. Hell, I did most of mine in my 20's. |

Just that the concept of actual bound books is rapidly becoming like the 8-track of literacy with the advent of e-books.
