The "media" is spinning like crazy this morning... |
|
They are dissecting every wink, nod, and lipsync of the SOTU speech. Unfortunately, they are reporting everything but what actually happened.
Predictably, it started with the Morning Joe show with Joe Scarborough and Mika. They look at the personalities, like Supreme Court Judges and Harry Reid yawning, rather than the message.
Even as we speak, they are still spinning. Eric Cantor was just on MSNBC giving his best impression of a Republican. He said it was about policies, not giving speeches.
But the speech had one dominating characteristic that they have refused to talk very much about. The President slapped down the lies. He said when he came into office, there was a $1.3 trillion dollar deficits and run-away debt for eight years. Also, the worse economic situation since the Great Depression. The Republicans sat silently in their seats of hypocrisy.
The President set the record straight for the American people. Too bad, the "media" will not do the same. They are continuing the same Republican crap as before the speech.

2. That's how I know that the speech was a success and that it probably |
|
will create a change in the public's opinion. They wouldn't be working so hard to be so negative if they didn't think Obama had scored some big points.

3. Will they seek comment from a Democrat who liked the speech? |
|
They certainly seem to be paying a lot of attention to the opinions of the minority, something that was notably lacking for eight years. I wonder why they're so vitally interested in explicating points of view that polls show are clearly not held by a majority of the people?

8. They plan on doing the same thing they have been doing... |
|
and it is obvious that the media will not call them on it. Unfortunately, the media does not know how many people were watching last night that saw a different speech than them.
