:D He knows he has to get through college, yet doesn't want to be a slave laborer to banks for it. :applause: Mr. President. But on edit, I on the otherhand wish he would be inclined to modify his scholarship program to include 2nd generations, 3rd generations and fourth. Thank you. :patriot: carry on.

1. I wish he would modify to include young people with degrees that can't find jobs.
I know several 25-26 year olds that could benefit greatly from this.

2. Jobs are coming. Hope they are of the type these 25-26 year olds of which you speak will
benefit from working. :D

3. The proposals to help with college was the best part of the speech, to me
I liked the parts about the jobs programs but thought they needed to be bigger but the help for kids to get their degrees was very encouraging.

4. Our oldest one begins in the fall...
then another one begins the year after her. Their first two years of community college are paid for (that's all we can afford) and hopefully they will only have to fund two years of a local uni here which is very reasonable. WE are stressing over and over to keep the college debt down as much as possible because it can be such a burden on any young person, especially if they cannot find employment.

5. Wouldn't hurt if they look only individuals income in a married couple
for Pell but their would have to be a cap on top wage for spouse. Someone who's spouse is making a fortune does not need Pell. My grandson is making a little above minimum and his wife makes $10 an hour. When their income is combined they are not eligible for anything. We need to educate our young people without bankrupting them.

7. It's great that he plans to reinvigorate community colleges and extend the Pell Grants some more.
On that, I can solidly agree with him.

I just wish there was a way to expand community colleges in small to medium sized towns to offer 4 year degrees. That would be a big help to many people in many areas of the country. I realize that is not high on anyone's priority list right now, but it would be a nice idea at some point.

8. Sounds like a good idea, but universities would have a problem with that more than likely.
