Booing at SOTU?
My daughter just told me she heard an NPR commentator state this morning that the fact that the Republicans didn't boo during the president's speech and instead just sat quietly was the equivalent of an olive branch. The commentator said it has been common for the opposing party to boo the speech in the past. I don't remember booing in past SOTUs. Does anyone else? I thought it was just a way to spin their rudeness into something positive.

1. Dems booed and heckled Bush during his 2005 SOTU speech.

2. I think Clinton was booed in 1995
Republicans looked like fools and took a beating in the media for it. Not sure it has happened since.

3. Funny
I thought I did hear booing when he came in. I wasn't sure.

None during the speech. I think they wanted to avoid a "you lie!" moment.

4. I saw an article yesterday about Joe Wilson.....
...it said he and some other republicans were told specifically not to draw attention to themselves, as Wilson did before, because if they did...it might have some kind electoral negative effects. That sounds logical to me......
