Now that Michelle Bachman has pulled out, is the Tea Party Convention dead?
People are asking for their money back, and there are even rumors that Barbie Doll Palin might not show up. I am guessing rather than suffer the embarrassment of a 3/4 empty hall while Palin speaks the organizers will find a way to just shut the whole thing down. You heard it here first.

3. They are all so paranoid that they are paranoid about each other.
Such a movement can never last that long. How long did the movement under Ross Perot last anyway?

8. The Perot "movement" officially died 11/9/93 when VP Gore skewered Perot
in a debate about NAFTA on Larry King Live. When Gore whipped out the framed picture of Smoot and Hawley, Perot lost his temper and Perot and his minions never recovered.

15. Oh, I remember that.
I think I was the only senior in high school that watched a debate about NAFTA on tv. Perot came off nutty though I was not totally into NAFTA at the time.

6. I think it is more that the organizers are beginning to be seen as scammers and the convention as
just a money grubbing scheme for them and for Barbie Doll.

5. It's been coopted by Sarah Palin
and her ego. We should send her a fruit basket for this one.

7. Palin's like George W. Bush in that everything she touches
is ruined. Her popularity is waning too if the organizers can't fill an auditorium when she's the keynote speaker.

11. I think her FOX gig is going to be the end of her
Now that she's officially a "pundit" on a network, the other networks aren't going to want to interview her because you don't give airtime to your competitors unless it's a slow day, and you want a nutjob like Beck to come liven things up (or you're Keith Olberman doing a Worst Person bit). More than likely, she will only be interviewing other conservatives (because any democrat worth his salt would destroy her), and any "interviews" she does will be handled by her fellow flacks of O'Reilly, Hannity, and Beck, so you can expect nothing but softball questions either way. She'll still say stupid stuff (alliteration!), but it won't be stupid enough to even get her mentioned on Letterman. Her media presence is going to die down to the insane 27% of the American public that actually wants her to run again.

13. I think so too
not only will the other networks not interview her, now they won't talk about her either for fear of giving her network more viewers.

It's a win-win for us :-).
