Peacocks leading sheep.

In here I think he concisely nails the problem, or even the sunsolvable problem, that just might lead to the end of the American experiment. Our electorate rewards liars and charlatans, while punishing anyone who tries to do the right thing. Politicians aren't stupid. They know that voting for, let alone talking about, what should really be done is career death. It's no wonder congress really seems to have such little respect for the public. Can the movie Idiocracy really be called satire?

I understand how negative this sounds. Maybe I'll have a happier outlook if I just stop reading the newspaper or following politics. But right now it seems the headline ought to reak "Cowards leading Idiots"

Loved the president smacking the peacocks around, but I'm afraid that in 24 hours the spinners will have the public mad at Obama for being rude to the nice men in suits.

3. No. Some of those I know feel that there is no difference between the parties.
Or at least see no personal interest really addressed by either party.

Some are idiots. Some are simply unrepresented.

4. Half the populace doesn't vote
in part because the Powers that Be make it difficult.

Many other nations allow for a day off - or have the elections occur on a week end.

And besides that, the Corporations really control who gets selected for our "free choice." Why was Dennis Kucinich called an elf, and asked that all important question about UFO's during the few minutes that he was allowed during the debates.

During most of 2008, Mike Gavel had an excellent presentation on how the Corporations dominate the election process. He hel;ped people learn how to view every single Democrat debate we had leading in to our selecting candidates. Obama and Clinton were always seated center stage. They were each given over twenty minutes in the debates. Kucinich and Gavel were GIVEN IN THE FIVE TO TEN MINUTE RANGE.

Edwards got in the twelve to fifteen minute range.

The Powers that Be select who is on that stage and how we view them.

With such a system in place, fat chance that our country will ever solve its major problems. It is a cult of Corporate controlled, reward the lying but charming personalities.

And Carlin and Lewis Black seem to tell us more truths about it than either of the major parties ever will.
