Marsha, Marsha, Marsha...
That was a good earful of talking points you delivered today.

You are not Sarah Palin, so please, stop speaking like her. "And" is usually not the beginning of a new sentence. I know you folks study psycho-linguistics but you really do sound ludicrous.

In addition, you ruin the bi-partisanship spirit when you say "democrat party". It's not the first time I've heard it today. Other members of your party, including the talking heads on the Teevee have been using it for a year now and continued to do so today.

Please lose the fake sincere tone in your voice. I'm not convinced, and I really doubt Obama was either.

1. Obama thoroughly dismissed her, I think, once "democrat" came out of her pie hole...
...and then she kept rambling on about, what, how her state had already tried single-payer or some shit.

Obama politely let her finish, but he was done with her long before she finished.

What a turd she was.

4. Thanks!
Do you know what they are trying to achieve with the "democrat" bit? If it's to annoy, it works.

15. It does annoy. For them, it's a epithet, I think it's automatic for them. Here's her bit:
She uses the word twice. :eyes:

snip:

CONGRESSMAN BLACKBURN: Thank you, Mr. President, and thank you for acknowledging that we have ideas on health care because, indeed, we do have ideas, we have plans, we have over 50 bills, we have lots of amendments that would bring health care ideas to the forefront. We would -- we've got plans to lower cost, to change purchasing models, address medical liability, insurance accountability, chronic and preexisting conditions, and access to affordable care for those with those conditions, insurance portability, expanded access -- but not doing it with creating more government, more bureaucracy, and more cost for the American taxpayer.

And we look forward to sharing those ideas with you. We want to work with you on health reform and making certain that we do it in an affordable, cost-effective way that is going to reduce bureaucracy, reduce government interference, and reduce costs to individuals and to taxpayers. And if those good ideas aren't making it to you, maybe it's the House Democrat leadership that is an impediment instead of a conduit.

But we're concerned also that there are some lessons learned from public option health care plans that maybe are not being heeded. And certainly in my state of Tennessee, we were the test case for public option health care in 1994, and our Democrat government has even cautioned that maybe our experiences there would provide some lessons learned that should be heeded, and would provide guidance for us to go forward. And as you said, what we should be doing is tossing old ideas out, bad ideas out, and moving forward in refining good ideas. And certainly we would welcome that opportunity.

So my question to you is, when will we look forward to starting anew and sitting down with you to put all of these ideas on the table, to look at these lessons learned, to benefit from that experience, and to produce a product that is going to reduce government interference, reduce cost, and be fair to the American taxpayer? (Applause.)

THE PRESIDENT: Actually, I've gotten many of your ideas. I've taken a look at them, even before I was handed this. Some of the ideas we have embraced in our package. Some of them are embraced with caveats. So let me give you an example.

end snip.

26. Ya know, something just hit me, reading your post
And I'm not one to normally use pop-psych terminology or offer a keyboard diagnosis of anyone's mental state, but I think the reason the repugs use the word Democrat is because it causes extreme cognitive dissonance to out loud, publicly, call their political enemies Democratic. Said aloud, large D and small d democratic sound identical.

And isn't democracy the stated ideal of everyone, even the pugs? I think they choke, the gag reflex kicks in, D-D-D.......but they can't utter the word democratic in the context of their political opponents. So it's shortened to Democrat and these screwed in the head, lying, two-faced bastards probably don't even know themselves why they do it.

35. Well, yes, that's obviously it. Thought everyone knew that.
Whether it was Rush or someone else who first came up with the idea with referring to the "Democrat Party" and the "Democrat government," the whole point was to divorce the label of the party from any word that might imply "democracy." Because they wanted to emphasize the idea that the Democrats aren't "democratic"; they're just a bunch of people from an opposing party.

It's so ridiculous. It's as if someone got mad at the New England Patriots because they decided the members of the team were not really "patriotic" according to their definition, and decided to call them "the New England Pats" ALL the time to make a point of it.

33. Can you imagine if Indies and dems started referring to
Repukes as Republicants? There's a way to say it that isn't so obvious, but really drives home the point. It would also be hilarious to watch their pundits explode on tv.

28. They're all doing it because Limbaugh made it okay for
them to do it. He started it a few years ago, then the Hannity's and assholes picked it up until the elected republicans started doing it. Been going on for more than a year.

Really pisses me off. EVERY time hear that. Pisses me the hell off.

5. She's mouthing off on cnn now; Obama's response is to tell her
that he's heard her ideas, some have been embraced, some with caveats (insurance across state lines), and then goes on to explain why the caveats are there, and what would happen if they weren't. He's too cool for Marsha.

Ideas need to be refined, and rethugs need to help, or not. With experts weighing in.

Man, President Obama is quick on his feet! :fistbump:

8. She delivered the RW word salad
It's the refreshing course, not nearly so substantial, but a nice bite before the real meat is handled during a meal. Frankly, I think this poster-bimbo just wanted some face time to bolster her cred to her home folks; unfortunately she came across as an idiot with just a bunch of disjointed talking points that were easily dismissed by Obama.

...wish I had the "I got this" pic to post here - it seems so appropriate right now.

21. You ROCK!!!
That's exactly what I needed to see after his verbal beat-down of all the dopes in Baltimore.

Question for the group - why the hell are is there a conference/meeting/circle-jerk of the repukes in Hawaii? I mean, they had their Baltimore chicken lunch; they got lobster and Bible Spice at the Tea Party bang, and now there's some 'fiesta' in Hawaii for them? What about fiscal responsibility and will Cokie Roberts determine that they're meeting in some "exotic and far-away place" that's our island state? Just askin....
