It was just a week ago I felt like hell
Edited on Sat Jan-30-10 12:09 AM by safeinOhio
It was like having the flue. Depressed about my party, not my usual self, not even watching the news. Felt so bad I didn't even watch the speech.

Now I'm back to my old self. Happy again, watching MSNBC for hours. Full of hope. Thank you Mr. President.

1. The speech was a good one, a down payment
on today's real payoff.

The best thing about Obama's performance today is that so much of it is on You Tube. It's not going to go away.

It was wonderful seeing all their "gotcha" questions dealt with so beautifully by a man who hadn't rehearsed, didn't use a bunch of notes, and certainly didn't use a teleprompter or earpiece.

He looked very much the college professor with a roomful of remedial students.

2. As a teacher myself, I have to say, he 'schooled' them
I was so pleased with his presence tonight, I watched the danged thing twice. Saw a lot of people coming up to shake his hand and take his picture too.

I have been feeling better since Wednesday too, after being almost in the crapper.

3. I used to think Bill Clinton was the only one with the magic.
But Obama sure disabused me of that notion.

He made me long for a sane opposition party he could work with. I can still dream.

4. I understand EXACTLY what you're saying. I haven't watched MSNBC in 3-4 weeks and CNN only
for the Haiti reports. I've been building an afghan while watching Animal, Discovery, History, Food, DIY channels and of course Family Guy. I thank God for the "ignore" function here or reading DU would have been unbearable. Today I feel very good... very good indeed.
