The "Christian" heretics continue their "uppity negro" meme........
President Barack Obama gave his first State of the Union address to both Houses of Congress on January 27, 2010. Of course, it was a typical presidential speech. It was informative, but it introduced very few proposals that received standing ovations by the members of the Republican Party. Basically, it reintroduced President Obama’s personal agenda that promoted the creation of an extremely powerful central government. His State of the Union speech also restated his approach to getting America out of the current recession, which was to spend, spend, and spend even more of the American taxpayers’ money.

Many political pundits speculated that President Obama’s speech would indicate that he had heard the “cry of the American people” that was sounded forth at the Tea Party rallies, the Town Hall meetings, and the Democratic loss in the Massachusetts Senatorial Election. However, based on his intentions to continue his efforts to pass an expensive Healthcare Reform Bill and a ridiculous Global Warming Bill, it is evident that, if he did hear the “voices of the masses,” he has decided to ignore them. As President Obama said himself, I’d rather be a “really good one-term president” than a “mediocre two-term president.” But, if he continues his “far left” agenda, he will most likely be a one-term president but with a lower approval rating than his nemesis, former President George Bush.

Therefore, why would President Barack Obama propose legislative goals in his State of the Union Address that ignore and ultimately defy the wishes of the American people? The answer could possibly be explained in one word. In fact, it is the same word that gets most people in the limelight in trouble. That word is “pride.” Instead of admitting that his methods for running the United States government are a failure, based on his State of the Union Address, he has decided to “double-down” on his ideological goals that the American electorates have already voiced their opposition to in the recent months. As a result, his obvious failure to listen to the people that he represents will give credence to the scripture found in the Book of Proverbs, Chapter 16, Verse 18. It reads, “Pride goeth before destruction and a haughty spirit before a fall.”

In fact, there is an excellent example of a prideful ruler found in the Book of Daniel, Chapters 3 and 4. As these Holy Scriptures vividly reveal, King Nebuchadnezzar of the ancient Babylonian Empire permitted his personal pride to temporarily hinder his ability to rule his subjects effectively and he was penalized by God for his egotistical behavior, too. Accordingly, King Nebuchadnezzar’s personal problem began when he had a golden image set up in Babylon. Eventually, he required everyone in his domain to fall down and worship it. Of course, those who failed to follow his directives would be cast into a burning, fiery furnace. But, as Bible-reading Americans already know, three Hebrew captives, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, who represented King Nebuchadnezzar in the land of Babylon, refused to bow down to the golden idol, since they worshipped the Lord God Jehovah. As a result, they were bound and thrown into a burning, fiery furnace, as the King had already promised to do to those who did not bow down to his golden image. Fortunately, for the three Hebrew boys, their God spared their lives from the furnace, which was heated seven times hotter as directed by the King himself.

Of course, after Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego were removed from the furnace, King Nebuchadnezzar realized that these boys served a very powerful God, much more powerful than the gods of the Babylonians. Therefore, he praised and honored their God. He also issued a proclamation that everyone in the kingdom should worship their God, too. But, eventually, King Nebuchadnezzar let his pride get the best of him again. In Chapter 4, Verse 30 of the Book of Daniel, he said, “Is not this great Babylon, that I have built for the house of the kingdom by the might of my power, and for the honor of my majesty?” As a result, King Nebuchadnezzar was punished that very moment by the Lord God Jehovah, as had been interpreted by the prophet Daniel. His punishment, which would last until he recognized that the God of Creation gave him his power, would be as follows: driven from men, eat grass like an ox, body wet with the dew of Heaven, hair grown like eagles’ feathers, and nails like birds’ claws. When King Nebuchadnezzar finally came to his senses and recognized the God of Daniel, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, he was reinstated by God to his position as ruler of the Babylonian Empire. Then, as stated in Daniel 4:37, King Nebuchadnezzar said, “Now I Nebuchadnezzar praise and extol and honor the King of Heaven, all whose works are truth, and His ways judgment: and those that walk in pride He is able to abase.”

Plus they are lying about the debt numbers!

When are the mainline churches going to rise up and put the heretics down?

1. Obama Has Failed
OK, maybe that's too strong. But I never understood why we had no strong response to the whole Tea Party movement and this whole fallacy about Americans not supporting his health care plan. Maybe we did and the "liberal" media just hid it.

Let us not play games with current polls asking whether or not Americans support a public option. Statistics and poll results are easily manipulated. We all know that the same basic question framed in a different way will get different answers. We also know that incorrect sampling can skew results.

There is one poll that matters more than any others. There is one poll in which the answers weren't based on how the question was asked. There is one poll in which the sampling was as large and representative as possible. That "poll" took place on Tuesday, November 4, 2008. On that day, 53% of the people (almost 67 million) said they wanted Obama's plan. Democrats had a net increase in legislative races too. I think most of them were candidates whose views were in line with Obama's. Logically we know not every one of those voters supported every aspect of his agenda, but we can't pick and choose - it's a package deal.

Perhaps it would have sounded haughty to remind people that we won and we were going to carry forward with the agenda. I don't think it would have been any more arrogant than to allow people to buy into the notion that the Democrats "don't care what the people say and are doing what they want." The people had their say on November 4, 2008. President Obama and the Congressional Democrats have become distracted by the noise since then and are failing to provide what the people said they wanted on that day.

2. "When are the mainline churches going to rise up and put the heretics down?"
Honestly I don't think they can, not without driving a huge wedge into American Christianity, a wedge I think they know will end up being the death or at least extreme wounding of the Christian faith in America..

There are no conflicts so deep and intractable as theological ones, the mainstream churches know their power is waning and that of the Pharisaic churches is relatively waxing, the mainstream churches won't throw down the gauntlet because they know they will be the ultimate losers in that conflict.

I'm reminded of this old joke..

The heretic

I was walking across a bridge one day, and I saw a man standing on the edge, about to jump off. So I ran over and said, "Stop! Don't do it!" "Why shouldn't I?" he said. I said, "Well, there's so much to live for!" He said, "Like what?" I said, "Well, are you religious or atheist?" He said, "Religious." I said, "Me too! Are your Christian or Buddhist?" He said, "Christian." I said, "Me too! Are you Catholic or Protestant?" He said, "Protestant." I said, Me too! Are your Episcopalian or Baptist? He said, "Baptist!" I said, "Wow! Me too! Are your Baptist Church of God or Baptist Church of the Lord? He said, Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are your Original Baptist Church of God or are you Reformed Baptist Church of God?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God!" I said, "Me too! Are you Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1879, or Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915?" He said, "Reformed Baptist Church of God, Reformation of 1915!" I said, "Die, heretic scum!" and pushed him off.

4. The squeaking of a minority faction within the minority party.
Loud noises do not a movement make.

They have already reached their high water mark, and are now on the downside.

As soon as you start spouting off biblical nonsense about ancient kings, the vast majority of the electorate in this country tunes you right the fuck out.
