Boehner to GOP: Embrace the Tea Parties
By David Weigel 1/29/10 4:13 PM

This nugget from Jake Sherman and Patrick O’Connor’s preview of the House GOP retreat deserves more attention.Boehner to GOP: Embrace the Tea Parties

{House Minority Leader John} Boehner has told his rank and file to embrace the so-called tea party movement “because it will be critical as we proceed,” according to excerpts from his remarks.

I’ve been reporting for months on how, despite the non-partisan origins of the movement, the Tea Party will inevitably do the GOP more good than the Democrats.

4. This is all Boehner has, he is not that intelligent...
Edited on Sat Jan-30-10 10:00 AM by rustydog
He is marginally intelligent and came in on coattails. This man cannot lead the GOP anywhere but deeper into the political wilderness. The best he can do is embrace bigots, racists and inbred morons?
He prays nightly he was as tough and saavy as Newtered Gingrich...

5. True
He is too stupid to realize that Perot voters were NOT gop voters, there were sick of business as usual. And the reform party received almost 20% of the vote and that cost the gop more than dems as Clinton was elected. They all want to cut spending until you ask them what to cut. 2 trillion in unfunded tax cuts by Bush and Boner are the problem.

15. On the contrary, he's smart enough to know
that the Perot voters swarmed back to the GOP in the 1994 elections. He's clearly betting on the same thing happening this year.

11. GOP leaders will impose their culture more heavily on the Teabagger movement.
Not the other way around. And it'll sink 'em both.

12. He really isn't very bright, is he
Does he think that 'stupid enough' is a path to the GOP nomination in 2012? Seems possible that could be correct.
