WHY!!!!!!!
since the Democratic party represents the middle and lower class far better than Republicans, and since our country consists of far more middle and lower class people, than wealthy.....Why don't democrats overwelmingly have power in all branches of government????????? I think the reason is simple....the democratic party has a HUGE, GIANT FLAW.......Democrats are not aggressive/persuasive enough and they allow Republicans to bullshit a large demographic of middle and lower class people into supporting a party that represents the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of their best interests. Democrats do not do a good enough job of scarring people and getting people to see what has happened and what will continue to happen if they continue to support republicans. In other words, democrats need to do a better job at studying republicans tactics, and start using them!!! I really do think the problem is that simple, and so is the solution. It seems like despite the obvious solution to the problem, nothing is being done to solve it, and its frusterating the F#%Ing Sh*T out of me!!!!

12. Repeat: Democrats are the majority in both houses and the Executive branch.
I'd say we are doing quite well.

Breathe...

3. i'm sure everyone has noticed that the poorer the state
the more likely for it to be red. The poor are controlled by ignorance, fear, church and rush limbaugh and they vote. They know not what they do and the right rely on it. Its no excuse but from my experience it's whats happening.

6. dems need to start using those tactics
Democrats need to start controlling by ignorance, fear, church, and their own version of Rush Limbaugh. (we need someone talented to step up and play that role. We must start using republican tactics!!

9. Those Red States
get a much more Federal money then they pay out in taxes too. Red State Welfare keeps those states voting Republican. The senators and representatives from those states love to talk about wasteful government handouts except when it is for their states.

Soemone needs to call them on it.

17. Yes, and then how can the Dems frame the message and all that BS
with voters who just vote how their pastors tell them to?

It's not like churches have to give equal time.

7. "The best revenge...
Edited on Sat Jan-30-10 11:57 AM by CJCRANE
Not becoming like your enemy is the best revenge".

Marcus Aurelius

On edit: this saying is probably more relevant to the campaign against al-Qaeda, but it's worth thinking about in general.

25. Their base is defined by ideology
but the GOP itself seems to have transcended ideology and become a party of pure tactics.

26. You are describing the democratic party now, not the GOP
The GOP has an ideology. They don't like government (except when it is invading other countries or arresting people for owning an ounce of weed) and they want to limit its scope. That's what their ideology is.

27. The GOP are for smaller government...
when the Democrats are in charge.

They're for spending less...when the Democrats are in charge.

But when the Democrats propose spending less...they're against that too.

13. thats not good enough
Yeah we have all majorities in all branches of government, but we're not mean enough to hang on to them. We are failing to remind the american people of all the chaos that occured in the past 8 years. Republicans are starting to have success in pinning the blame on us for the bad economy and job losses. Republicans were also successful in making people fear public option healthcare, death panels,...etc...

16. It's just an excuse for the voters
To say they have to get effective "marketing" or they are helpless but to vote for whoever runs the slickest campaign.

This view seeks to manipulate the voters also. It's just complaining that the Dems are not as good at it. But the underlying premise is that the voters have to or deserve to be manipulated.

20. Dems don't represent the people
How is it that you've not been aware of this? There IS no party that represents the working class anymore and there hasn't been one for decades. BOTH parties represent the wealthy and corporations and BOTH pretend to represent the working classes. It just took longer for Dems to abandon the working class than it did the Repubs.
