idiots on NPR "On the Media" are bashing Populism right now.
And are insinuating that those of us "bashing bankers" are just as ignorant and simplistic as the right-wingers that rail against "liberal intellectuals". :eyes:

1. Plently of Liberals here do the same thing.
Technocrats and other ivory tower dwellers have always been part of the progressive movement. They dislike the rabble and want to curb their influence (like term limits.) They hate Democracy and love the educated, just like the right hates Democracy and loves businessmen.

12. Unfoutunately, they have succumbed to rep. threats to...
slice and dice their budget back in GW's heyday.

Thank god, "It's not Faux (yet), but it sure as hell isn't the NPR I listened to for so many years." as poster put it.

2. NPR sounds worse than Morning Joe. I'm not hearing good things
about them at all lately.

6. I used to think otherwise, & then a funny thing happened...
when Chimpy & Evil Dick were in the White House, I thought, at first, that NPR and the CPB were both headed for a shallow grave in budget-cut land. But while they weren't whacked, I noticed a decided change in the flavor of things coming out of my radio (usually tuned to NPR, well at least until I got XM...). I had always thought of NPR as being non-biased and willing to air all sides of a story, but over time it began to sound more and more like the rest of corporate radio.

It's not Faux (yet), but it sure as hell isn't the NPR I listened to for so many years.

11. Yep. I used to love NPR, but now couldn't care less about them.
Any outfit that would bring in David Fucking Horowitz to trash a dead Howard Zinn is no better than FoxNews.

(There are plenty of conservative scholars who could have come on to discuss Zinn's scholarship and his influence, even critically, and that would be fine with me. Horowitz, though, is nothing more than a particularly stupid and dishonest propagandist. It's like bringing in Britney Spears to discuss the musical legacy of Mozart.)

4. I wonder where they've been for the last few days
Davos degenerated into a near donnybrook this year as world leaders and big money boys all ganged up on the bankers and investment houses, especially Golden Sacks and browbeat them until they grudgingly admitted that maybe a little more regulation just might be in order someday.

The populists weren't wrong. They were just first. However, everybody but the paid mouthpieces has caught on now.

care nothing about fucking over their banking customers for more profits.

Shit, move your money..... savings, checking and/or mortgage to a community bank, or local credit union....It really does make a difference.
