The Democrats now have a rock solid issue to run on, (as if they needed another issue.)
Health Care Reform, jobs, ending wars are already issues that the Dem Party should be running on.
But, apparantly we need more issues.

Here's a rock solid issue for the Dem Party to run on nationwide..

Regarding the articles recently posted on DU citing polls that show some 70-80% of Americans oppose the recent US Supreme Court decision that struck down corporate campaign ad spending limits.

The Dem Party needs to propose a constitutional amendment to ban corporate personhood and reinstate corporate campaign spending limits.

As a party, run on that nationwide in the November general election.

Most of their GOP opponents in November's general election would likely oppose this and could be painted in an unpopular light. Use populist anger against corporate America and the Dems have another winning issue to run on as a party, nationwide.

As a party, we have been presented a golden opportunity to run on a very popular issue. If only our Dem leadership will grasp this opportunity and run on it.

5. Exactly!
We will hear a lot of hemming and hawing, but the Dems know that overturning this ruling with a new law will also affect the cash cow they have in SEIU, UAW, NEA, ABA, etc.

I guess there's a difference between liberal special interests and conservative special interests.

6. The potential amounts garnered from liberal special groups PALES in comparison to the amounts
that the multinationals can afford to give.

There is no equal comparison. It's a runaway win for corporate interests.

2. Better than the others you listed.
I don't know about a Constitutional Amendment (likely not necessary and complicates the process)... but certainly new legislation cutting the impact of the decision.

The other issues may be ones that we agree Democrats have the better positions for, but they aren't great issues to run on.

Ending wars? We elected your guy and gave you a substantial legislative majority... why are you "running" on it now? Why wasn't it done?

Jobs? No doubt you're in favor of them, but the other guy says he is too... and you're running the show. "Didn't lose nearly as many jobs as we would have" is not a compelling argument. See previous question.

HCR? Some are against it (the current manifestation) and won't vote for you... some are in favor or real reform and dislike the way you handled it (See first question).

This is at least a start. Particularly since the supreme court is likely to be an issue since the Senate will almost certainly be voting on two new justices shortly before the election.

4. The GOP are against Bank Reform. This a present bigger than
life.

How much do want to bet, they will not use this.
